One of the most important things musicians can do is verify their social media and music platform profiles!

Why? Because when potential fans go looking for your music, it will be easier to find the real you. The real slim shady if you will.

What does a verification badge mean on TikTok?

A verified badge means that TikTok has confirmed the account belongs to the user it represents. It appears next to a TikTok user's account name in search results and on the profile as a visible blue check mark.

What Do You, As An Artist, Need To Do To Get Verified On TikTok?

Firstly, You must be a signed client of Identity Music for us to assist you with any profile verifications.

Secondly, a number of factors are considered before granting a verified badge, such as whether the notable account is authentic, unique, and active. Verification at its core is a way for people to know that the newsworthy accounts they are following are exactly who they say they are. Thus, some attributes required are:

  1. Active: your account must have logged in within the past 6 months.

  2. Secure: Your account should have multi-factor authentication with a verified email.

  3. Authentic: your account represents a real person, business or entity. Only one verification per business, or person except for language-specific accounts

  4. Complete: your account must currently be public and have a completed profile with a bio, name, profile photo, and at least one video

  5. Notable: We review accounts that are featured in multiple news sources, and we don't consider press releases and sponsored or paid media.

How much does it cost to get verified?

TikTok does not charge to get verified.
Any entity claiming to 'sell' TikTok verifications is unaffiliated with the company.

Why might TikTok remove verification?

TikTok may remove a blue verified badge at any time and without notice.
Some removal reasons may include:

  1. The account was transferred to another owner making verification inauthentic

  2. The username changed so the account owner needs to re-apply for verification

  3. The account type changed between business, personal, or institution

  4. The account content was violating TikTok's Terms of Service.
