At Identity Music, fraud prevention is one of our core focuses. For all Publishing Administration clients, we use Credas to verify your identity to confirm we're legitimately collecting publishing royalties that are owed to you.
Who are Credas?
Credas is a digital identity verification provider that we partner with. Credas is award-winning and trusted globally, and holds a number of accreditations affirming their data protection compliance, including:
Digital Identities & Attributes Trust Framework certification – this is a UK Government certification that confirms adherence to the highest standards for digital identity verification and trust services.
ISO 27001 – this is an internationally recognised standard of adherence to information security management and security techniques.
Cyber Essentials Plus – this is a scheme backed by the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Centre and demonstrates an organisation’s defences against cyber-attacks.
How does it work?
When you receive an email from Credas asking you to verify your identity, you'll be given a set of instructions to follow.
You'll be asked to download the Credas app (available on iOS and Android), where you'll be prompted to take a photo of your government-issued ID and then take a photo of your face.
The Credas technology will then make a determination as to whether your ID and your face are a match with each other.
How long does a Credas check take?
The Credas app has been designed to be secure, quick and easy to use. Ordinarily, your identification will be verified in under one minute.
How do I check my results?
The results of Credas identity verification checks are shared with Identity Music. We will let you know if there are any issues with the check.
Is my data stored by the Credas app?
No, your data is not stored in the app. Your data is handled by Credas using cloud-based technology that meets all relevant security requirements.
Is the Credas service certified?
Yes, Credas is certified against the UK Government's Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework, which is independently verified and reviewed annually.
