When you upload your release to the Identity Music Client Portal, you are able to list any collaborators that you have worked with on your release in the "Other Key Artists" Section of the release. (This is referred to as Release Level Metadata)

You are also able to list any collaborators in the "Other Artists and Contributors" section of the release. (This is referred to as Track Level Metadata)

We have listed below all of our options for Artist and Contributor labels within our client portal. If you are ever unsure what you would like to list a contributor as feel free to ask your account manager or message our live chat for assistance.

The Commonly Selected Artist & Contributor Roles

Primary Artist - The main artist(s) that is performing on the track/album.

See Below where it will appear on a "Primary Artist" Spotify Profile:

Featuring - The artist(s) who is a guest feature on the track/album.
Remixer - Someone who creates a new sound recording by using elements from pre-existing tracks.

See Below where it will appear on a "Featuring Artist" or "Remixer" Spotify Profile:

The "Appears On" section displays works that you are not listed as a primary artist on, but have contributed to as a performing artist or remixer. Located at the very end of a Spotify artist profile, the "Appears On" section bundles together releases where the artist is a featuring artist, remixer, vocal feature, and the inclusion of an artist's track on compilations.

Note: You will only appear in the "Appears On" section if the original artist has included your artist name as a performer or remixer on the release.

Other Artist & Contributor Roles

Engineer - An audio engineer is responsible for all aspects of capturing the musical recording. The audio engineer operates and sets up recording equipment to record and manipulate instruments, voices, and sound effects.

Mixer - Balances the track levels, panning, and time-based audio effects (chorus, reverb, delay) to make the audio sound professional.

Performers - They are artists who express their talents through recordings or in front of live audiences.

Vocal Producer - The person/s in charge of a recording session, or the person/s who create the musical tracks that support the vocals.
